Welcome to the first episode of More Than a Side Story, a podcast about disability representation in books, media, and culture.
In this episode, I introduce the purpose of the podcast and talk about why authentic disability representation matters, especially for young readers. I also share several middle grade and young adult books that portray disability in thoughtful and realistic ways, and explain why these kinds of stories can make such a difference for students, families, and educators.
